Did you know...
that Jesus performed his first miracle at a wedding?
This story is about how Jesus turned water into wine.
One day, there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus, His mother Mary, and His disciples were all invited to the celebration.
The feast was a big part of the wedding custom. How embarrassing if something should go wrong, but it did - they ran out of wine.
When Mary found out she told Jesus. "They have no more wine," she said.
Jesus answered his mother that fixing the wine problem was not the reason He came, and that was not His purpose on earth.
Jesus, however, told the servants to fill six large stone jugs with water. He then told the servants to take a sample from the jars and give it to the man in charge of the wedding banquet.
When the master of ceremonies tasted it, it was wine. How could this have happened? The water had miraculously turned into wine. In fact, it was excellent wine.
The master of ceremonies turned to the bridegroom and said, "Everyone brings out the best wine first, and the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink, but you have kept the best wine till now."
When something is impossible but it happens anyway, it’s called a miracle. When the disciples of Jesus realised that Jesus had turned the water into wine, they recognized the miracle and believed Him.
During His lifetime, Jesus performed many miracles to show His power and glory, but this was His first.
